Vision Statement

Allow card holders the ability to create virtual cards, linked to their underlying accounts where they can manage the card spend limits and expiry dates via Nedbank Money App at their convenience.

Card holders will enjoy higher security when transacting through eCommerce and continue to benefit through the rewards programme associated to their physical cards.

Responsibilities:
Prior to getting a UX and UI team, I facilitated and unpacked the brief using a Design Thinking process to Validate the business request.
From competitor research and deep CX, through to UX and UI prototyping which I tested continuously with clients, I crafted the solution using Nedbank’s Design System and managed stakeholder input.
As Design Lead I was on the squad from July 2021-2022 and maintained the core IP, always pushing limits, maintaining patterns and driving innovation.

EXPLORATION & ALIGNMENT WITH BRAND

Responsibilities:
My team an I were responsible for the final virtual card design. I developed the key messaging and drivers from which all our work stemmed, aiming to produce a unique, smart and good looking virtual card our clients would resonate with.

I produced many of the designs myself and held workshops to refine and choose our preferred options. I participated in playbacks to marketing heads and head of product and we were able to secure a final design.

In addition we managed the VISA, Mastercard and American Express associations, receiving approvals.

FINAL SOLUTION AND GO LIVE

The Virtual Card solution was launched in September 2022 with commercialisation kicking in to drive adoption.

Virtual card has been a standout solution for Nedbank and featured in several forums, showcasing Design Thinking and Delivery Leadership.

I have remained close to the team post handing over and look forward to seeing continued success for Nedbank and this solution.
