“An exceptional consultant…” well done Brad!

Just want to let you know that the Treasurer Dashboard, Global Payment and Book a Forex Rate prototypes were shown at Francis’ Manco today. 

This message is a big thank you to Brad for all the effort made in building these prototypes PLUS I want to let you know that Brad did quick changes to the prototypes after sessions held with both myself and Ian to enhance them further with much success!

Brad is a phenomenal design lead with exceptional business acumen, especially showcased on the Virtual card project.

Bringing order to chaos seems to be the appropriate phrase for what he has accomplished on this project in a short period of time. Yes he is the design lead, but he took on way more responsibilities than what is expected because he realised the need for it, and I commend him for that. He showed the team the gaps there are in the value proposition through applying the design process (CCD process at Nedbank), and brought the whole team together ranging from design, tech, all the way through to business stakeholders to collaborate on strengthening the value proposition to increase the chances of securing enough funding for the project to see the light of day.

Brad is one of the first designers I have worked with in a long time that can truly call themselves a Product Designer.

Brad has been such a force in the Juristic programme at Nedbank. When I took up the position of Head of Product Design, that part of the portfolio was what intimidated me most. I still quake a little in my boots. However, I could hit the ground running because Brad has been such a wonderful support, immediately getting me into the fold and clarifying the bigger picture. What could’ve been a disastrous start for me (and very likely predicted outcome) due to budget cycles ending and project- and squad structures changing, was made easier by Brad’s keeping his cool knowing each and every in and out of at least 13 projects running concurrently. I have immense admiration for his solution-focused demeanor, and respect his pragmatic way of organising the team, running meetings and raising the right questions in crazily diplomatic ways. You can really rally a troop of designers – if that’s the correct collective noun? 😉

You are a great manager. As a designer, and the only voice of a ‘client’ in a very business and tech driven space, I encourage you to use your persuasive skills and knowledge to advocate loudly for a client, and push your team to do their internal and external research. And always, ALWAYS, go back to what the data says.

Brad, I thank you for being such a great sounding board. It’s a pleasure working alongside you and hope we get to do so again.

Hi Brad, it has been an absolute pleasure working with you. Your SME knowledge is invaluable and having you on the team has been so helpful in getting alignment on the requirements.

From the moment you arrived you took accountability for your delivery and pushed forward to get us to where we are today. I enjoy the fact that you question things and you don’t just accept them as a given. I also appreciate the way you protect and support your team in their deliverables.

You also go over and above what is expected of you, driving the client interviews and getting involved in Marketing and Commercialisation. The Squad has made great progress with your support and I cannot wait for the VC to be in production. Thank you for everything.

Brad was an exceptional consultant on NBB Refactor Project and the Channel Convergence prototyping initiatives. Brad has taken time to understand the client problem from its fundamentals and provide great feedback and strategic direction. He has consistently added value through going out of his way to help the project – as an example, he reached out to the retail designers for patterns that could be reused which added efficiencies to the project. I always look forward to our sessions and hope to work together in the future.

A huge thank you for all your hard work, I don’t think we would have received the feedback below had it not been for you. As they mentioned in the session you turned the presentation from chips into caviar 😊.

Brad is excelling as a design lead on my projects. He stepped into a project (EPIC) that was struggling and with his determination and professionalism he turned it around. Once that ended I asked Brad to move to a trickier project, one with a long history of complications and tough stakeholders (Juristic). I’m so please to have on the project. He is engaging well with business and co-running a large portfolio. He keeps me constantly updated, and despite a tough workload and long hours, he consistently delivers quality design.
